House of Knot

Countless carefully cut strips of Cashmere Ultra 3 Ply BT were spun and counterspun —with a power drill! — into crochet-able yarn to achieve this cheeky, popcorn-effect jumpsuit from House of Knot. More (skinnier, smaller) strips and more drilling yielded the shag scarf.

Even now, 10 years after she sold her first artful hand- knit accessories to earn pocket money while studying urban planning and architecture at Dalhousie, Katherine Phan doesn’t quite seem to accept that she’s in the fashion business. But the remarkably sexy, crowd- pleasing crocheted jumpsuit that starred in her House of Knot runway show at Toronto Fashion Week would indicate that this Calgary-based designer should stick to her knitting. Really.
